1) Who We Are
ProFaceFinder (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides an online tool that helps users check where their own images may appear on publicly accessible parts of the internet.
We take privacy seriously and comply with the EU/UK GDPR and other applicable data-protection laws.

2) Data We Process
A. Usage & diagnostic data
We automatically collect limited technical information such as:
- device type and operating system
- browser/app version
- session duration and interactions
- approximate region/country
- crash logs and diagnostic data
- cookies/standard identifiers (e.g., GAID/IDFA where applicable)
Purpose: operate, secure, and improve the service; detect abuse; prevent fraud.
Legal basis: Legitimate interests (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
B. Image search data (when you upload a photo)
When you upload an image to perform a search:
- the image is processed temporarily to generate a non-reversible numeric representation (“embedding”) used only for visual similarity comparison
- the original image is deleted immediately after processing
- temporary embeddings are kept up to 24 hours solely to deliver results and ensure system integrity, then automatically removed
- no identity, name, profile, demographic, or sensitive traits are inferred
We do not build or maintain a permanent database of personal images.
Legal basis: Consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). Processing occurs only after you choose to upload an image.
C. Account data (optional)
If you create an account, we process only the minimal information required:
- name or username
- email address
- optional avatar/profile from your chosen sign-in provider
Legal basis: Contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
D. Payments (if applicable)
Payments are handled by third-party payment providers.
We do not store full card details.
Payment processors are PCI-DSS compliant.
Legal basis: Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) and legitimate interests for fraud prevention.
3) What We Do Not Do
We do not:
- create or maintain any permanent database of identifiable images
- sell or share personal data with advertisers or data brokers
- access private or login-protected areas, social-media accounts, or messaging apps
- perform identity inference, person identification, or demographic classification
- store uploaded images after the search completes
4) How ProFaceFinder Works
ProFaceFinder is designed for individuals who want to check where their own images may appear online.
- We work only with publicly accessible webpages.
- Uploads are processed in real time and removed immediately afterward.
- Results include links to external sites where visually similar images appear.
- We do not host or control the external content shown in search results.
Responsible use
Users must only upload images they are legally allowed to use.
Any attempt to misuse the service for harassment, stalking, impersonation, or unlawful activity is prohibited and may result in account suspension or reporting to relevant authorities.

6) Data Retention
- Uploaded images: deleted immediately after processing
- Temporary embeddings: deleted within 24 hours
- Usage/analytics: up to 24 months, then aggregated or deleted
- Account and billing data: retained for the life of the account and for legally required periods
7) Processors & Data Transfers
We use vetted service providers for hosting, analytics, diagnostics, and payments. These providers act under our instructions and are subject to data-processing agreements.
Where data is transferred outside the EU/UK (e.g., to the US), we use approved safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

8) Cookies & Analytics
We may use cookies/SDKs for basic analytics, performance monitoring, and optional advertising (e.g., frequency capping).
Where required by law, you will see a consent banner before any non-essential cookies activate.
You can manage cookie preferences through your browser or device settings.
9) Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- access your personal data
- request correction or deletion
- withdraw consent at any time
- object to certain processing
- restrict processing where applicable
- request data portability
- file a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority

10) Opt-Out / Image Removal
If you want an image removed from our systems or excluded from future searches:
- Use our Opt-Out form, or
- Email support@profacefinder.com with enough detail (image and relevant URLs)
Valid requests are processed within 24 business hours.
11) Security
We apply industry-standard technical and organizational measures including:
- TLS encryption in transit
- access controls and least-privilege policies
- pseudonymization and secure deletion workflows
- audit logging
- staff confidentiality and security training
- regular internal risk assessments
12) Children
ProFaceFinder is not intended for minors.
We prohibit searches involving children’s images and may block or report suspected misuse.
13) Legal Requests & Misuse
We may preserve or disclose limited data if required by law or necessary to:
- comply with legal obligations
- respond to lawful requests
- investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents
- protect users, systems, or our legal rights
14) Third-Party Websites
Search results link to external websites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Review their policies separately.
15) Changes to This Policy
We update this Policy when necessary.
Material changes will be highlighted, and the “Last updated” date will be revised.
Continued use of the service after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
